The Storytelling: Script to Screen brief and deliverable

At the start of the lesson we were told the fundamentals of how the module would work. I found out: ‘When the due date was for the assessment Annabeth gave in class.’ ‘She told us how the assessment would be submitted as a zip file of the work.’ The brief was very confusing and had many big vocabulary words, when Annabeth could have simplified them down for me to understand making it more helpful.

      Work Animatic

In the first lecture of storytelling we looked at this animatic which looked a lot like a basic B&W 2D animation. I thought this animation was very interesting. First the meaning behind it is if your young don't rush into work as you will feel overwhelmed and it will take the youth out of you.

      Ant Man Animatic

The next animatic example we saw was the Ant Man animatic which showed how 3D blocked animation and hand drawn simple animation can make a brilliant looking animatic..

      Star War Animatic

The final animatic example was from star wars where they used action figures to block out the scenes of the live action movie.

      Freytag's Pyramid

      Inciting incident

      • Something happens to begin the action. A single event usually signals the beginning of the main conflict. The inciting incident is sometime called the complication.
I really don't understand this phrase.

      The Story Spine

The story spine is a good why to start a story and lay it out.

      The assignment guidelines

      1.  Production Bible (.pdf) – using Adobe Indesign
      2. Animatic (.h264 ) – approx. one minute in length
      3. Reflective blog (link) – containing at least 10 posts

The projects I have to develop for this module is to come up this an original story that contains 2 characters. After developing the story I would need to create a production bible containing all the relevant materials: COVER IMAGE: Title Design, Production Team Logo, Crew Names; WRITTEN STUFF: Log Line, Treatment, Script; CHARACTER INFO: Character Description, Background, Motivations; CHARACTER VISUAL DEVELOPMENT: Concept Art Sketches, Turnaround, Construction Model Sheet, Pose Sheet, Expression Sheet, Colourways, Comparative Sizes; BACKGROUND VISUAL DEVELOPMENT: Concept Art: Rough & Cleaned up, Floorplans/Elevations; STORYBOARDS; STYLES FRAMES.

After creating the storyboard for the production bible I will need to put all the storyboard panels into an animatic.

Finally when all that's finished as part of the module I will need to create reflective blog post for the entire module. As I've done for week one.
