During the 21st March lecture, Annabeth set-up a video chat call with Adrian Shaw, (the Freelance,
Tate Late Coordinator) to talk about the ideas the class had and talked about the health & safety
procedures on the night.
These below are Sam Babrovskie’s notes of what Adrian Shaw said during the meeting:
Theme of “Kiss”- Annabeth
Also, what the butler saw birdboxes- to sit with mannequins
Annabeth - Can we access the big screens near ticket stalls? This would be for the fish tank
4th May, just that night. Can we get in 4pm to set up?
Adrian - saw thumbnails of ideas. Had feedback from Tate Visitor Experience Mgr. Screens
behind ticketing desk their area. It’s “doable” but would require a test?
Can you get them to swim across all x4 screens?
Best to talk to her when you go for Reece next week.
Sooner they have the animations, the sooner they can test!
Also have to consider Tate and Eurovision may need to have marketing and logos up on
screens too. Adrian has e mailed Marketing Mgr, Tate.
Bring HDMI cables- and do your own thing!
Cable runs - can use matting but prefer no cables and heavy footfall area. Better run cables
around the walls if poss. Self/battery powered all good! More self-contained and sufficient
the better. Don’t rely on Tate having what you need.
Adrian - has to do full Risk Assessment for all of our work.
Cast iron pillars - as part or architecture of building, can use these. Strap things to them?
Hospitality space - for our Green Room
Reception area/desk - might be able to use that. Display boxes?
Can students contact you, with ideas along the way?
Adrian will send Tate e-mail to contact him, not a problem. Prefers more info than no hearing from
people!
Presentation - in a few weeks, week com 16th April.
Adrian’s days are usually Thurs & Fri on this Tate event.
Annabeth - Do we have to recognise any Tate or Eurovision branding? No
“Celebration of Eurovision” History, camp vibe, etc…
Adrian - is dealing with budget for all of the event. Ball park budget asap please!
Tate lates - chilled, relaxed, younger demographic, festival style. Short form to watch
something etc….

There will be DJ’s in the café are so might be a bit of sound leaks…. But not in the foyer area.

The mental notes, I made during the meeting was about fire door access and tiring down cables so
there not a trip hazard.
After the meeting, I started putting a moodboard together of ideas for the fish tank texturing. As
seen above.
This is an early moodboard, but this wasn’t developed any further although it did serve its purpose.
So I could find colours of LGBT that I could use for the texturing later on.
