"Animation Context" Module Briefing

[FIRST YEAR] Animation Context

Covered today:

The Animation Context brief and deliverable

At the start of the lesson we were told the fundamentals of how the module would work. I found out: ‘When the due date was for the assessment Johny gave in class.’ ‘He told us how the assessment would be submitted as a zip file of the work.’ The brief was very confusing and had many big vocabulary words, when Johny could have simplified them down for me to understand making it more helpful.

Statement of Intent

After Johny went through the brief he showed me the S.O.I. (Statement of Intent) which at first I didn’t have a clue what he was talking about until I looked deeper into the document. Johny said we will be making a poster or leaflet teaching another person how animation came to be, teaching them about the history by showing them in the simplest way. The statement of intent is reasonably the structure to the project giving me a starting point with a template of what way Johny wants me to set out the project. This statement of intent is going to be a learning tool for pitching for project support or funding.

People's Bingo
After learning about the fundamentals of the work Johny gave use an ice breaker exercise to learn mini fact about the other member in the class. So everyone in class (except Chris because he was heating up his food in the kitchen) lined up at the computer to write a funny or insight fact about themselves.

My fact was that I did work experience at Bright Future Software where I Got offered a job of the work I did with the company. Here is the a few facts I found really interesting/weird:
  • Caroline – ‘I became famous in my year for kicking a bully in the face in self-defense.’
  • Nicky – ‘Volunteered in a steam mill in the boiler room.’
  • Coco – ‘I’ve walked a marathon in deep snow.’
  • Gaston – ‘Think I’m a rainbow sis god, but is stuck in bronze.’
  • Patrick – ‘I’m from Wigan but I hate pies.’
  • Ffioa – ‘I’m learning to Salsa Dance.’
