[FIRST YEAR] Introduction to Creative Play

Today as a team building exercise my group (Hasan and Shabbz) has to make a unique corpse by folding a piece of paper into three and secretly drawing a body part per person (I bet you could guess which part was mine….

…No it was the rocket feet and it’s terrible. But after doing each part the character looks dam good. We called this character Ziggy the Beast and the story of Ziggy is that he got his legs chopped off for punishment then he replace them with a rocket to get around.

Built a city for animators

The second part of the day my team (Hasan, Braydon, James, Patrick) had to make a city for animators. From these pictures you can see the development of the town. When creating this city we didn’t plan anything first we just went straight into making the model. James found some wood, that he cut up to build a structure that represent a tower for the animators to work in. 

I didn't know what I was doing at the time as we didn't have a plan so i gather a few materials together from around the room and just put something together, having lots of ideas as I went along. Most of the things I found was already made up for us like a house i found in the Plasticine box, Flowers to make a forest, Guns and Tracey Island building for the leisure part of the city. I used gun as an idea to defend off attackers. 

As we the time whittled down my group just kept throwing thing into the mix then finally we had a mismatch of everything and Kevin thought it would be crazy / cool to add a big grey star destroyer from star wars right in the middle then after that i thought to add all the 3D Printed robots to populate the world.

Everyone else's designs were really good: 

1. Group 1 made a town that was barricaded so the animators wouldn't escape.
2. Group 2 made roads first with a marker then used foam and Plasticine for the buildings.
3. Group 3 made a two part town: Part 1 - resource forest with a ink volcano, Part 2 - Industrial foam town.
4. Group 4 made a town with a lot of foliage and a floating building with a lift to it.
