Film Hub North hosted a special edition of their regular Mixer event series from 6-8pm - this time, it was all about animation! As I'm trying to get into the animation industry and interested to get to know other animation industry professionals, the Animation Mixer introduced me to fellow filmmakers and animation enthusiasts across the North.
I really enjoyed networking with many other animator and finding out about their life and telling them mine.

Joining Film Hub North's BFI NETWORK team for this session are representatives from aNEmates, the North East's animation community; the mighty Manchester Animation Festival; and Animex, the Tees Valley’s international festival of animation. Together we'll be celebrating local animation talent, forging new connections between the region's filmmakers - and maybe even getting an early look at some festival plans.

How does it work?
Mixer events are free to attend. All that's required is a reliable internet connection and access to a device that supports video conferencing.
At our online Mixers, we recreate the sociable spirit of our in-person events by using Zoom breakout rooms to mix small groups of creatives together, and rotating the groups throughout the evening. Join the room from 6pm - we'll split attendees into groups and get things started from there.
Film Hub North's Animation Mixer is an informal event for anyone working or interested in animation. Creatives in the North will have an opportunity to chat over a drink learn more about the animation industry in the North and meet potential collaborators. We've moved things online in order to bring animation talent together remotely - join the talk to speak about my projects, develop ideas and nurture new productions.
