Casebook Task - LinkedIn Interviews (Part 1)

[Third Year] Showreel and Professional Engagement

Wed 21st Oct 2020:

Today, I watched each LinkedIn interview video that was tasked to me on week 1 and these were my interesting points.

On the 21st October, I had to research some interviews videos on LinkedIn for this casebook. I had a look at two of the interviews by Chris Lambeth and Lindsey Pollard and find some interesting points inside them. This is what I have found out after watching the videos:

Development needs - facial expressions on characters, Good to film ourselves doing actions - animation links to acting.
Develop my observational skills - Observation, Transformation, Animation (OTA), looking at subject translating that to animation. Develop my skill of emotions.
Look at a live action subject and translate that to animation character.
Uncanny Valley - how we can make a character look appealing. Realistic environments - animation looks realistic without it being realistic - 3D - I would like to develop my skill in making realistic and appealing characters and environment.
Motion Capture - real peoples movements in real life to control the avatars in the film for realism.
Character Animator 2D animation software which uses facial movement - develop in this area of using 2D. Believability of characters - suspension of disbelief - development need work towards this in own work.
Misfits weather electric shock gave them powers.
Industry trying to make things as real as possible - scanned in actors before they died - using these to make animations - Cadbury's advert - animated - realism.
CGI need to know how to develop a character - technical 3D animation learn about physics - how a ball falls, different weights, balloon velocity, gravity interacts with objects.
