MAF - Day Six (Odeon)

[Semester 2] Animation Event

Final Volunteer Festival Shift

This was a very slow working shift as it was the last day of the event so most of the screenings (from the rest of the week) was repeats at the Odeon cinema Manchester.

When I got to the Odeon, I and 3 other volunteers was sent to the front door / bottom of the escalators to guard and watch out for potential attendees. But I hated standing up and I borrowed a bench that I found to sit on, so I wasn’t hurting my back standing there.

After a while of not many people coming passed for the MAF event I asked Greg why 4 of the volunteers had to be out at front. Me / Anna moved up to the top of escalators, where I placed a table for us to sit at and talked about animation / our lives.

There was many left-over posters spare from the festival that I give out to people as they went into the screening but also I wanted some posters for myself for my wall at home.

For the Student Films Panorama Screening, I scanned a few peoples tickets as they came in but there was not many that turned up.

At 3pm, 30mins before the end of my shift, I was told I could watch the last few minutes of one of the two screenings showing at the time which was the “Student Films Panorama” that I’ve already seen or “Animated Voices”. So, as I’d not seen Animated Voices during the previous days, I popped me head in to take a look but after sitting down for a few minutes the animations wasn’t keeping my interest. I left the screening and asked Anna, if I could finish early (which she said yes) so I could get the tram for my date I had this afternoon.
