Armature making and puppet fabrication can be a bit of a dark art. Wes (Animation Toolkit) discusses the 10 main principles of puppet making for stop-motion animation. From ball joints to eyeballs, Wes helps you make the right decisions to bring your ideas to reality. Subjects discussed will cover armatures, soldering, silicone Vs foam, sculpting, 3d printing, clothes and all the bits in between.

Wes Wood, owner of Animation Toolkit, designs, develops and manufactures stop motion armature kits and parts for industry and consumer. His roles at ITV and the BBC as a Creative director has developed children’s brands and their on-air channel identities and promotional materials for over 15 years.

He’s worked with some of the largest properties from Horrid Henry to Pokémon, Go Jetters, Scream Street, creating short form stings, interstitials and trailers for national, international and cinema release.

Animation Toolkit provides it’s parts, kits and services to the stop motion animation industry, ranging from educators and students to television and cinematic productions. Stix and Stones is Wes’ first outing as an independent producer, teaming up with life long writing partner Tim Dann.
