My team/group did a deep dive into research on the Change is Necessary brief. I found this
somewhat of challenging process as the brief confused me slightly and likewise the others also found
it confusing, partially due to some of the phrasing of the brief.
However, as a group we worked our way around the brief and started to approach it in a way we
thought was appropriate. The initial phase was deciding what roles each member could do for this
animation. Most of the research was how the environment was working around people, as it was
being taken for granted. An aspect of this was looking at motion graphics for such as looking at polar
bears and how their frozen world is slowly disappearing and also the use of single use plastic cups.
This also involved looking at Darwin’s theory of evolution [I wasn’t too sure about the purpose of
this], food chains, blue green algae, greening factory roofs. At one point the research process
seemed quite fragmented. At this time, I was working from home and I let the other members know
which roles I thought I would be useful to do and they agreed with me.
Therefore, after the research process my roles involved editing the animation and editing the
animatic and one aspect of this was adding some additions to the scene and adding audio to the
scenes. One challenge was that not many scenes were coming through from other members, as they
were also focusing on other work.
