…After we did the tower we had to find out how we were going to protect the egg from a long fall. Without Ffion here (As she went home ill) I had to take over the team as leader. When planning the idea in my head there was two categories for the contraption: 1) to slow down the object and 2) to protect the egg from impact. So to slow it down I had an idea to make a parachute out of bubble wrap and masking tape.
This is a test run for the drop to see if it would hit the target and not break the egg. As you can see in this video the egg contraption hit the edge of the drop zone closer than the real drop. (As seen below)
When my group did the drop for real. They dropped the egg contraption from the third floor of the building. But the problem was that my team members didn't drop the contraption in the right place, because the first team started the drop at the corner of the top floor nowhere near the drop zone on the ground floor. We could of won the competition if we got closer to the drop zone or even hit the floor altogether because ours hit the chair losing point. So annoyed about that and wish i went up there to throw it then we might of won.
