Maquette in 3D

[FIRST YEAR] Introduction to Making of

Covered today:

Adding more detail to my Maquette
Added more detail and smoothed out the robot with my fingers.

Took pictures of the finished Maquette under light with different filters. I tried many different angles and filters to give the robot different personas.  Image 1 [normal light] gives (Insert Name Here) a feel of him being sinister. Image 2 [blue gel] gives (Insert Name Here) an emotion of sadness. Image 2 [orange gel] gives (Insert Name Here) and sense of a fire in front of him giving him an evil look to him. Image 4 [green gel] give (Insert Name Here) a sense of disgust. Image 5 [purple gel] gives (Insert Name Here) a sense of fear. Image 6 [yellow gel] gives (Insert Name Here) a sense of joy and happiness. The final image is a low angle shot that give (Insert Name Here) a sense of power.

I put my Maquette on the 3D scanner which took me four scans to make it complete with no holes. The software was a bit confusing at first until I got help. The model had a base that was scanned into the computer but when the model was put into Maya it was hard to remove the polygons so I was told it was easier to select loop around parts of the base in the scanning software. Then with no base the character was put into Maya and was given a digital human skeleton rig that looked very cool. Now I can do an AtoB walk cycle with my digital clay character.
